Rashtriya Uchchatar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA)

As per the guidelines of Himachal Pradesh University, Choice based Credit System (CBCS) Under Rashrtiya Uchchtar Shiksha Abhiyan (RUSA), has been introduced in the college. It is a semester system with complete choice to choose subjects and earn credits. Here term credit has a connotation of achievement or earning through learning effort and successful completion of a course of study. One credit is equal to study undertaken in a course for one hour per week in a semester. Semester in Latin means six monthly or either of the two six monthly involving teaching for 15 weeks for a 6 day week excluding duration of minor exams, tests and term examinations and semester breaks.

The key objectives of RUSA are to improve access, equity and quality in higher education through planned development of higher education at the state level. Such planning will create by creating new academic institutions, and expand the existing institutions, that are self-reliant in terms of quality education, professionally managed, and characterized by greater inclination towards research and provide students with education that is relevant to them as well as to the nation as a whole. Presently College is running BA. (Arts) Programme, while B.Com & B.Sc. Programmes will be started in coming years.
